Bottle Beach - Sunday, July 20, 2025.
To carpool, meet at the Southside Swansons near the coffee stand in the far end of their parking lot at 8:00 am. We should arrive at Bottle Beach between 8:20 and 8:30 if you would like to meet us there. Although the high tide is almost favorable, it's only a 5.9 ft tide so I do not anticipate good shorebird viewing, but the rest of the park offers great summer warblers and sparrows in the willows.
Lake Wynoochee - Monday, August 18
Meet at the Tractor Supply Parking area closest to Hwy 12 at 8:00am. We will meet any coming from the East of Aberdeen at the Mocha Monster, a little coffee drive-thru that is just south of the Hwy 12 exit where the off-ramp connects with Montesano's Market Street. We should be at the coffee stand between 8:15 and 8:30. We can canvass the East side of the lake to Maidenhair Falls, then backtracking to the other side of the lake to the Tacoma Power Park just south of the Coho Campground.
Bowerman Basin/Sandpiper Trail - Tuesday September 9
Meet at the Hoquiam Airport Parking lot at 8:00. This will be mostly a walking trip although the path is wheel-chair friendly the whole way. After walking the trail, we will spend any extra time scanning the ponds at the nearby sewage treatment plant.
Ocean Shores - Sunday September 28.
Meet at the side parking lot of the Hoquiam Swansons at 8:00. We can meet the Ocean Shores people at the Restrooms parking lot adjacent to the Litehouse Suites which is at the end of Damon Road/State Rte 115. Depending on the weather, we will make selected stops on Ocean Shores Blvd traveling to the jetty and on around to the Coastal Interpretive Center. High Tide is 1:52 pm so we can airm to be at Bill's Spit around noon where we can relax as we wait for the shorebirds to come to us;
Tokeland - Monday, October 20
Meet at the Southside Swanson at 8:00 in the far end of the parking lot near the coffee stand.. High tide is just afternoon, so we should have the advantage of the birds coming to us. We can canvass the marina and surrounding neighborhood including the campground near the Marina..
